"Five Things I'm Thankful for at Thanksgiving”
HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM RealLifeRealTalk.com
As Thanksgiving approaches, it is an opportune time to reflect on the blessings that God has bestowed upon you. I am grateful for numerous things, and I would like to share five of them with you. Each of these blessings are swayed by my life experiences and are rooted Scripture. Your “five things” are probably very different than mine, but whatever and however long your list, I pray that this Season of Giving Thanks reminds you of God's faithfulness and goodness.
1. The Gift of Salvation (Ephesians 2:8):
First and foremost, I am thankful for the gift of salvation through My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Scripture reminds us that we are saved by grace through faith. This incredible sacrifice demonstrates God's love for us and provides us with eternal hope. This Thanksgiving, let us remember and celebrate the profound truth that we have been saved by grace.
2. The Love of Family and Friends (Proverbs 17:17):
I am grateful for the love and support of family and friends. Proverbs teaches us that a friend loves at all times. Our loved ones play an integral role in our lives, providing comfort, encouragement, and companionship. This Thanksgiving, let us cherish the relationships that God has blessed us with and express gratitude for their presence in our lives.
3. The Abundance of Creation (Psalm 104:24):
God's creation is a testament to His infinite wisdom and creativity. Psalm 104 reminds us that the earth is full of His creatures. From the majestic mountains to the smallest creatures, nature declares His glory. As we gather around the Thanksgiving table, let us remember that there’s something about being aware of God in nature that causes us to slow down as we give thanks for the beauty and abundance of HIs creation.
4. The Gift of Spiritual Gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7):
God has uniquely gifted each one of us with spiritual gifts to be used for His kingdom purposes. We are called to serve one another with these gifts, building up the body of Christ. This Thanksgiving, let us express gratitude for the specific gifts God has entrusted us with and commit to using them to bless others and bring glory to His name.
5. The Promise of God's Faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23):
Lastly, I am thankful for the unwavering faithfulness of our Heavenly Father. Lamentations reminds us that His mercies are new every morning. In a world full of uncertainties, we can find solace in the steadfastness of God's love and promises. This Thanksgiving, let us rejoice in His faithfulness, knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
As we gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, may we remember the goodness and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father. Let us express gratitude for the gift of salvation, the love of family and friends, the spiritual gifts entrusted to us, and the promise of God's faithfulness. As we reflect on these blessings, may our hearts overflow with thanksgiving and praise, inspiring us to live lives that honor and glorify Him.
